Cute as a Button Lion 'n Lamb

A Christmas present (2013) for our mother (and purse-maker), and one of the first in our new line of button creations. She's accumulated quite the collection of Lions & Lambs over the years (well before Twilight, btw), and requested we make our own pair for her. The curlicues for the lion's mane took a good couple hours alone, and all the lamb's wool was also made with individual tiny balls. A labor of love, but it will be admired for years and years to come.

This lion and lamb were made completely from oven-bake Sculpey/Fimo clay, with tiny buttons for the eyes, and paint for the details such as the paws, hooves, and lamb's mouth. The lion is approximately 2 1/2 inches tall with the lamb coming in at 1 3/4 inches.

The wolf shall romp with the lamb,
    the leopard sleep with the kid.
Calf and lion with eat from the same trough,
    and a little child will tend them.
Cow and bear will graze the same pasture,
    their calves and cubs grow up together,
    and the lion eat straw like the ox
The nursing child will crawl over rattlesnake dens,
