Dark Inkwell Dragon by SmilingMoonCreations Dark Inkwell Dragon by SmilingMoonCreations

This was my first experimentation with wings after watching *DragonsAndBeasties's Dragon Sculpting Tutorial Video. Perhaps a little large? But I'll be keeping him nonetheless. I also added quite a bit of 'decoration' and now I'm not sure if he's cowering behind the vase or if he's lurking menacingly :evillaugh:

This dragon was made using standard oven-bake Sculpey and Fimo clay, with red beads for the eyes and puff-paint for the back ridges. The vase was a trinket I picked up a while ago and will continue to serve as my quill pen holder.

The vase stands at just under 2 1/2 inches, while the dragon's head and wings come up to 2 inches.

I've been wanting to do something like this with my inkwell thing, looks just like that one. DId you bake the dragon with the little vase thing, or what?

Yes, though I believe our inkwell is glass, so handled the oven quite easily. Plastic might prove more of a problem...

You did a wonderful job with the wings and I love how he came out! Black and red are probably my favorite colors for dragons... Also I'm just noticing this but It looks like there are actually scales painted on him... That may just be the texture but overall AWESOME!!!

Heh, yeah, that's just texture + glaze, but I think it fakes scales pretty well. This one especially worked great in the wings. Thanks very much :D
