Handbell Dragon for Giles by SmilingMoonCreations Handbell Dragon for Giles by SmilingMoonCreations
See more angles here: [link]

This was a commission from our handbell choir as a parting gift for our director. We just had our final performance for the year and he's moving out-of-state to finish up his schooling, so naturally we sent this little guy along with him.

This dragon was made using standard oven-bake Sculpey and Fimo clay, with yellow beads for the eyes and puff-paint for the back ridges. The bell was found and bought at Goodwill.

The handbell as a whole stands 5 inches tall, though the dragon's upper horn comes in at approximately 1 1/4 inches off the ground.

For more information about handbells, check out this rundown: [link]

Obviously, he's not for sale (since he's already gone!), but I promise to post one that is for sale tomorrow!

This is such a cool idea! I used to do a handbell choir at church ... until the teen group fell apart and suddenly I was the only kid in a group of older adults... little awkward, but it was still soo much fun!

Same thing happened to me for a time. But once I was old enough not to be weirded out by being the youngest, it wasn't so bad. Our handbell choir takes the summers off, but my mom is thinking of taking it over next year since our director left. Should be fun :)

Haha, sounds fun! It was just awkward when I was seventeen and the others were around 50 or 60 years old...
