I made this ceramic turquoise bowl/pot way back during the first couple weeks of a sculpture class in high school. It's not my greatest work, being basically practice, and the opening isn't big enough to hold much, so it's pretty much been a shelf-sitter.
Feeling suddenly creative the other night, I decided to put a dragon on it. And why not make him fishing? Though whether he's managed to catch a gemstone or is using it as bait, I'm not sure.
The dragon sits at approximately 2 inches tall, while the whole piece is about 4 1/2 inches from base to fishing pole. He's made from basic oven-bake Sculpey with beads for eyes.
I was planning on selling him, but leave it to Mom to suddenly speak up and say she always loved that pot and there's no way I can get rid of it. Doesn't help that she loves purple, too. Oh well, I can always make others...
And thus begins a new era.
